Have a Look Our City Library Walking Track

Walking track circles the library

Our city, Baton Rouge, Louisiana has plenty parks and gardens, one of them had been posted in the blog (Burden Museum and Gardens, Baton Rouge, Louisiana).

All parks and gardens which belong to city administration have provided tracks and trails for walking and running. It is a kind of local government program to make community healthier.

The city council distinguishes paths, tracks and trails in many different types, some of them are:
- CAPP trails
- Multi use path
- Concrete walking path
- Walking loop
- Indoor walking track
- Primitive trail
- Nature trail
- Blueway trail 


 The city main library

We have been walking or jogging regularly in the parks. This month, we tried the walking path, outside library fences which circles the city main library.

Location is not far from our house, just about 15 minutes by driving. The total length of path is about 4 km or 8,8000 steps. 35 minutes to complete one lap.

We hope that we could burn 120 calories by walking for 4 km. We are planning to walk 3 times a week.

The track is quiet, just met few people who are jogging, running or walking. We saw abandoned bicycled, chained to the fence. Many flowers adorn the bike. Look pretty beautiful.

We feel comfortable and secure since there is a police station nearby the track, and many people come and go to library.


Hope, our routine program to walk 4 km and 3 times a week will keep continue for one year round.

  10. Camminare fa bene, in questi primi giorni di gennaio ho fatto camminate (14/6/8/3 km), però ciò che amo di più è la bicicletta, io sono sempre in bici, per andare ovunque. Buon sabato Evi e buona domenica.

  29. I find it great to walk a few hours a day, to improve our health, but we must also be cautious and not exceed a certain limit, which depletes or causes damage to the body.

  41. Walking 3 times a week sounds like a great plan. I walk on the weekends and I also try to do it on working days when the weather is nice. Walking is a simple but very efficient exercise for the body.

  66. Looks like a lovely walk! What a shame about the bike though - here in Australia a white bike is setup as a memorial where a cyclist died, and flowers are added as a tribute to the victim :(
