We
are still Stay at Home Order until May 15th. Nothing to
complaint and trying hard to enjoy home activities during this
difficult time.
To
date, the Louisiana Health Department reported 30.855 positive cases
of Covid-19 and 2,154
people in this state have died, an increase of 19 from yesterday.
Reading
is one of my favorite activities. Even I prefer to read news,
articles, and nonfiction, I love to read novels.
I
read “The Dutch House” by Ann Patchett.
This
novel is about the magnificent mansion and the strong bond between
two sibling that grown in this mansion.
The
mansion is known as the Dutch House. It was build by the
Netherlands-born vanHoebeeks, then this mansion was bought by Cyril
Conroy to his wife, Elna, before their children were born.

Patchett, the author of The Dutch House
(Credit:
Ann Patchett).
Cyril
Conroy bought the house with all furniture, including the paintings
of the previous owners, and the Conrays never take down those
paintings.
The
two siblings are their children, Maeve and Danny. Their mother, Elna,
disappeared (escaped to India) and she left them. They were grown in
this house.
The
story begin when, Maeve and Danny' father bring a woman, Andrea, to
their home, then Andrea become their evil stepmother. Andrea also
brought her two daughters in to the house.
How
the stepsisters talk and treat to Maeve remind me to my favorite
fairy tales. Then they are exiled from the house by their stepmother.
The
story set in suburb Philadelphia after Wold War II.
The
good one from this book is, exactly like I want, well ending :)
The
most interesting, in case you do not have time to read this book, let
the award-winning
actor
Tom Hanks read it for you.
The
audiobook of the Dutch House is available, so we still can enjoy this
story while keep doing our activities.

ReplyDeleteA GREAT SPELL CASTER (DR. EMU) THAT HELP ME BRING BACK MY EX GIRLFRIEND.
ReplyDeleteAm so happy to testify about a great spell caster that helped me when all hope was lost for me to unite with my ex-girlfriend that I love so much. I had a girlfriend that love me so much but something terrible happen to our relationship one afternoon when her friend that was always trying to get to me was trying to force me to make love to her just because she was been jealous of her friend that i was dating and on the scene my girlfriend just walk in and she thought we had something special doing together, i tried to explain things to her that her friend always do this whenever she is not with me and i always refuse her but i never told her because i did not want the both of them to be enemies to each other but she never believed me. She broke up with me and I tried times without numbers to make her believe me but she never believed me until one day i heard about the DR. EMU and I emailed him and he replied to me so kindly and helped me get back my lovely relationship that was already gone for two months.
