The invitation signs to celebrate Halloween are already out on the roads. The stores fill up with many varieties of candies, cookies, and costumes.
A week away to the spooky night.
Trick-or treat hours for the City of Baton Rouge and East Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana are set for 6.00 pm to 8.00 pm, on Saturday, October 31, 2020.
Sharon Weston Broome, the Mayor of Baton Rouge just give a sign about this festivities.
She mentioned to all residents to use good judgment in our Halloween preparations, and keep our community safe and healthy this Halloween.
Here recommendations for safe holiday festivities on CDC website https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/daily-life-coping/holidays.html#halloween
I just got Treat Map app. It seems our neighborhood will do traditional events, but we are still thinking about how to do the best festivities when virus in mind, and how we provide the treat safely bagged and the kids.
Many ideas came up in discussions:
- The parties will be in the open air.
- Everyone keep their distance and wear face covering.
- Following the the Treat Map for trick or treat and the costume wave parade.
- Some haunted houses will be put the black and orange balloons as a sign.
- Candies will be in individual safe bags for trick-or-treaters.
Some residents will be leave the candies in the drive way or carport, either on the table, in the Garden Candy, or in the Candy Tree.
Don't be greedy, and sweep all candies for yourself. Be aware! The Witch are watching for the Greedy!
Keeping the distance, some residents will be passing candies by a long pole, a pool net, or rackets.
We, in this neighborhood, want everyone safe but still able to enjoy the holiday and festivities.
Happy Halloween, Enjoy the Spooky Night, and be safe!

I think those measures are great, that way the kids can enjoy in a safer way. I am thinking too of ways to give treats without risks, but I'm not taking my daughter to trick or treat.

Sounds fun! Halloween is going on as usual around here.
ReplyDeleteQue sea una buena fiesta pero con mucho cuidado Evi.

Happy Halloween, celebrating is being discouraged at this time in the Toronto area.
ReplyDeleteUntil last year, ghosts and witches were friendly and unreal to us. Today the ghost of covid19 is real and haunts us, we do not know where and what we have to take care of

I don't think people in our area will be distributing candies this year. Too risky.
ReplyDeleteNice post dear 👍
ReplyDeleteGreat, Evi. Sometime I will enjoy the Halloween party in your city. Unfortunately in Argentina where I live there is no celebration, there is no such tradition. A shame really. I would love to.
ReplyDeleteHugs and more hugs each time bigger.
Evi, Hallowe'en has be cancelled for us Scottish. The kids aren't allowed to go out and no parties either. We can celebrate in our own home with the people living with us, but nothing else! Looking like Scotland will do the same for Christmas too :-O
ReplyDeletedisfruta del Halloween y cuidate mucho. Me encantan el diseño de las galletas oreo. Te mando un beso

ReplyDeleteHalloween is becoming a scary holiday just because of the danger involved with it. Not long ago, there were fears of mischief done to the candy and the hospitals were x-raying candy if you wanted for pins! Now we have other concerns. Thanks for the interesting post!
ReplyDeleteAll looks so yummy! :-)
ReplyDeleteKisses

I love kit kat!
ReplyDelete👍👍❤️
ReplyDeleteThanks for the beautiful post!
ReplyDeleteHave a nice day)

This Oreo looks delicious!

All the festivities in this period / year have been significantly changed due to epidemic measures but as I can see, human solidarity and ingenuity can overcome everything. I am glad you managed to celebrate anyways!
